Insertion
1. Sanitise
Before using your Diva Disc, sanitise it in a pot of boiling water for 5 - 7 minutes ( or other sterilisation method that do not damage silicone). Repeat this process between each cycle.
Tip: Place your Diva Disc inside a metal whisk to keep it from touching the bottom of the pot.
2. Insert
Wash your hands before and after each use.
Pinch the DIVA disc lengthwise. Hold the folded disc between your thumb and forefinger with the anti-slip pull-tab facing out and away from your body.
Tip: Add a drop of water-based lubricant to the rim can make insertion more comfortable.
3.Tuck
Push the opposite end of the pinched disc into the vagina horizontally. Then, tuck it in place behind the pubic bone.
4. Remove
Wash your hands. Using your index finger, untuck the front rim of your DIVA Disc from behind the pubic bone.
Loop your finger into the anti-slip pull-tab and gently slide the DIVA Disc out, keeping it horizontal to avoid spills.
Empty your flow into the toilet, sink or shower. Clean DIVA Disc with water, then re-insert.
Tip: If possible, rinse your DIVA Disc with cold water after each removal to help prevent stains setting in.
If you're not near a tap, it’s fine to simply wipe out your disc with toilet paper and reinsert until you can rinse it.
At the end of your cycle sanitise your DIVA Disc so it's ready next time you need it. Store it in a dry place out of direct sunlight.
A Note about Self-emptying
Every menstrual disc can empty itself as you are bearing down on your pelvic muscles for some users when you pee. This can be handy on heavy days!
For most users, it will re-tuck itself automatically. If not, simply re-tuck the disc by pushing the front rim behind the pubic bone to ensure that it is securely placed.
Warnings
- For the best results, please follow the instructions.
- Consult your doctor if you are using an intrauterine device (IUD). While uncommon, there is a risk of dislodging, displacing or removing the IUD by pulling on the IUD string when removing the Diva Disc.
- If you have ever had Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS), do not use Diva Disc or any other internally worn product.
- Immediately following childbirth, gynaecological surgery, miscarriage, or termination of pregnancy, consult your physician before using Diva Disc.
- Maximum wear time is twelve (12) hours.
- Menstrual Disc is NOT intended to be used as contraception and will not prevent pregnancy. If you wear your Diva Disc during sexual intercourse and condoms are your sole method of birth control, remove your Diva Disc - the disc has not been tested against condom use and friction may create a micro-tear in the condom.
- Menstrual Cups are not supplied in a sterile state, sterilise your cup before first time use.
- Avoid using alcohol or any kind of corrosive cleansers as well as brushes to clean your cup.
- If you experience any adverse events with Diva Disc, discontinue use and consult your physician.
