Ways to wear
1. Tucked - The tabs tuck underneath the disc and out of the way.
Best for a low or average cervix and plan on using their Hello Disc ™ during penetrative intercourse
2. Dropped - The length of the tab is 'free' and drops down. Best for a high cervix or those are looking for an easier removal with an accessible tab.
3. Flipped - The bottom loop is looped through the top loop from behind. Best for an average cervix or if you don't know your cervix height.
4. Trimmed - The second loop is cut off (use indent as a guide). We don’t recommend cutting your entire tab off!
Best for a low cervix or people who find the full length of the double-loop tab a bit uncomfortable.
Insertion
1. Getting Started
Sterilize your Hello Disc ™ before you first use it. To do this, place the disc in a pot of boiling water for 3 minutes.
Pro Tip: Because no one likes a charred Hello Disc™, try putting your disc inside a whisk to make sure it doesn’t touch the bottom of the pot.
2. Changing and storage
Remove your Hello Disc™ every 8 hours.
If possible, rinse your Hello Disc™ with cold water after each removal to help prevent stains setting in. Clean with gentle soap and rinse. If you're not near a tap, it’s fine to simply wipe out your disc with toilet paper and reinsert until you can rinse it.
At the end of your cycle sanitize your Hello Disc™ so it's ready next time you need it. Store it in a dry place out of direct sunlight.
3. Insert your disc
Your Hello Disc is designed to be worn in a variety of ways.
In all cases, fold your Hello Disc™ longways.
The tab end should be the last part of the disc to enter your body.
Once you feel you can insert the disc no further, use your finger to push the rim up to tuck the disc behind the pubic bone.
Tips: Be sure to keep the double loop tab centered while inserting.
Add a drop of water-based lubricant to the rim can make insertion more comfortable.
Removal
Remove Your Hello Disc™
Disc removal has never been easier, thanks to the Hello Disc™'s double-loop tab.
Hook your index or middle finger into one of the loops, slowly remove the disc.
Once your Hello Disc ™ is out, keep your fingers hooked and allow the disc to drop away from you, emptying the contents into the toilet.
** If you have trouble finding a loop, gently bear down (like you're going to poop) so that your disc can dislodge from behind the pubic bone. Alternatively squat to reach the disc rim, pinch and remove**
A Note about Self-emptying
The Hello Disc™ can empty itself for some users when on the toilet. This can be handy on heavy days! For most users, it will re-tuck itself automatically. If not, simply re-tuck the disc by pushing the front rim back into place.
It is normal to experience some leaking while using the bathroom as you are bearing down on your pelvic muscles. This does not mean that your disc needs to be changed. After using the bathroom, you can re-tuck the rim behind the pubic bone to ensure that it is securely placed.
Warnings
- For the best results, please follow the instructions.
- Consult your doctor if you are using an intrauterine device (IUD). While uncommon, there is a risk of dislodging, displacing or removing the IUD by pulling on the IUD string when removing the Hello Disc.
- If you have ever had Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS), do not use Hello Disc or any other internally worn product.
- Immediately following childbirth, gynecological surgery, miscarriage, or termination of pregnancy, consult your physician before using Hello Disc™.
- Maximum wear time is eight (8) hours.
- The Hello Disc™ is NOT intended to be used as contraception and will not prevent pregnancy. If you wear your Hello Disc™ during sexual intercourse and condoms are your sole method of birth control, remove your Hello Disc™ - the disc has not been tested against condom use and friction may create a micro-tear in the condom.
- Menstrual Cups are not supplied in a sterile state, sterilise your cup before first time use.
- Avoid using alcohol or any kind of corrosive cleansers as well as brushes to clean your cup.
- If you experience any adverse events with Hello Disc™, discontinue use and consult your physician.
