How to use
1. Boil to Clean
Clean Nixit in boiling water for 5 mins ( or other sterilisation method that do not damage silicone), before first use and between cycles.
2. Squeeze & Insert
After washing your hands, hold Nixit between your thumb & forefinger to squeeze. Insert by gliding it back & down towards tailbone.
3. Tuck
Use your finger to push the front rim and tuck it up (behind your pubic bone).
4. Remove & Reuse
Wash your hands, untuck front rim by hooking your finger under the front edge, gently pull it out.
Empty the contents of the disc in the toilet, clean Nixit with water, then re-insert.
Wearing:
- Once Nixit is inserted, you can comfortably wear for 12 hours. Nixit can be worn during exercise, swimming, using the bathroom, and even during sexual intercourse.
Note:
It is normal to experience some leaking while using the bathroom as you are bearing down on your pelvic muscles. After using the bathroom, you can re-tuck the rim behind the pubic bone to ensure that it is securely placed.
Warnings
- For the best results, please follow the instructions.
- Never use Nixit for more than 12 hours at a time.
- Nixit is safe to wear with an IUD when used as directed, but we do recommend consulting with your physician before first use regarding your particular IUD.
- Although medical grade silicone is non-porous and therefore resists bacterial growth, there is still an extremely small risk of Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS) for menstrual cup users. Always follow the care and cleaning instructions for Nixit and always make sure your hands are clean for insertion and removal to eliminate the possibility of TSS.
- If you have ever had Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS), do not use Nixit or any other internally worn product.
- Immediately following childbirth, gynecological surgery, miscarriage, or termination of pregnancy, consult your physician before using Nixit.
- Although Nixit looks a lot like the contraceptive diaphragm, it is designed to keep blood in, not sperm (or STIs) out. Nixit is not a contraceptive and does not provide protection against sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
- Menstrual Cups are not supplied in a sterile state, sterilise your cup before first time use.
- Avoid using alcohol or any kind of corrosive cleansers as well as brushes to clean your cup.
- If you experience any adverse events with Nixit, discontinue use and consult your physician.
