How to use
1. First Things First
To ensure Saalt disc functions properly, sanitise it before use by boiling it in water for 5-7 minutes ( or other sterilisation method that do not damage silicone). Repeat this process between each cycle.
2. Insert
Wash your hands before and after each use. Squeeze Saalt disc to form a figure 8. Sit, squat, or raise one leg. Guide the back rim of the disc into your vagina and push the disc back and down with your index finger towards your tailbone.
3. Tuck
With that same index finger, tuck the front rim up and behind pubic bone to position the disc. To check the position of your disc, stand up, keeping your index finger on the rim of the disc.
4. Remove
Relax your pelvic muscles and bear down like you are having a bowel movement. Hook your index finger under the front rim of the disc and gently slide the disc out, keeping it horizontal to avoid spills.
Empty the contents of the disc in the toilet, clean Saalt disc with water, then re-insert.
Wearing:
Once Saalt disc is inserted, you can comfortably wear for 12 hours. Saalt disc can be worn during exercise, swimming, using the bathroom, and even during sexual intercourse.
Note:
It is normal to experience some leaking while using the bathroom as you are bearing down on your pelvic muscles. After using the bathroom, you can re-tuck the rim behind the pubic bone to ensure that it is securely placed.
Warnings
- For the best results, please follow the instructions.
- Never use Saalt disc for more than 12 hours at a time.
- Saalt disc is safe to wear with an IUD when used as directed, but we do recommend consulting with your physician before first use regarding your particular IUD.
- Although medical grade silicone is non-porous and therefore resists bacterial growth, there is still an extremely small risk of Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS) for menstrual cup users. Always follow the care and cleaning instructions and always make sure your hands are clean for insertion and removal to eliminate the possibility of TSS.
- If you have ever had Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS), do not use Saalt or any other internally worn product.
- Immediately following childbirth, gynecological surgery, miscarriage, or termination of pregnancy, consult your physician before using Saalt disc.
- Although menstrual disc looks a lot like the contraceptive diaphragm, it is designed to keep blood in, not sperm (or STIs) out. Cora disc is not a contraceptive and does not provide protection against sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
- If you experience any adverse events with Saalt disc, discontinue use and consult your physician.
